The story behind sharp little things

I had this thought as I pulled out patches of small stickers from my long black and white checkered socks on the porch in the hot desert sun:

Skateboarding has taught me a lot, and I have to credit it for the strength its given me to continue my progress through my art career.

Every skateboarder knows the amount of tries and all the scrapes and bruises it takes to land a trick, whether that be in the half-wet frozen concrete in the winter or the hot sun of the summer, with the cracks in the ground and the dirt filled landing, it doesn't matter to us as long as we get the trick.

You learn that with enough effort and tenacity you can land the trick, despite all the times before.

It’s like the definition of insanity, where you continue to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome. Except we know that we can create that different outcome through shear force and willpower.

This mindset is what has created the backbone of my art career, allowing me to continue to push forward, knowing that I can always change the outcome, even if I don’t succeed the first time.

Sharp Little Things is a reflection of that: My designs and brand that blend my upbringing, skateboarding and art, with a philosophy of continuing to push on despite it all.
